Today my blog is two years old and I feel like a proud parent. To be honest, I am surprised that people even read my blog and that I have managed to keep it up for so long. As mentioned in this post, I will be leaving the country soon (roughly 15 weeks!!) and I thought today would be a great time to give you details about my final blogger meet.

I will be organising the blogger meet for Saturday 6th October. I will be looking for a location in Central London, but I wanted a rough idea on the numbers before hand. two little ducks

Recently I turned 22 and it was just like a normal day. Thankfully, it was just what I wanted. I went to work and had an Indian takeaway with my family. Here are a few snaps of what I got on the big day. I'd like to thank you all for the lovely tweets and messages I got on the day. They all really made me smile!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURA!

I started talking to Laura on twitter quite a while ago. It started off with blog talk but now I consider Laura to be a true friend. I was so pleased when I finally got to meet her at the London Blogger Meet. I am sure there is going to be many fun times ahead.

Laura is absolutely lovely, a huge inspiration and one of the kindest people I have ever met. I wanted to wish Laura a huge Happy Birthday and what is a birthday without a small present?

It's only something small but I wanted to give her something on her big day! I got the card from Paperchase and the bird from East of India.

Last night, I was just about to drift off to sleep when I suddenly thought; my blog must be getting on a bit by now. I checked the date of my first post and I was just in time for my blog birthday! My first blog post was a film review, and so I thought I'd take the time to introduce myself  properly now.

Who?

My name is Emma Catherine Daisy Harold. I am a 21 year old from Essex. Daisy was my Nan, who sadly passed away with breast cancer before I was born. I can tell by the way that my dad talks about her, that she was a lovely lady and a huge inspiration in his life. I love the name Daisy; some of my friends actually call me Daisy because they think it suits me more. For these reasons, Daisy Chain was created.

Why?

I started my blog on 5th August 2010. On 2nd September 2010, I left England to go travelling in Australia for 3 months. I created my blog as a way to keep my friends and family up to date with what I was doing whilst I was away. This didn't go exactly to plan because when I was away I spent most of my time in the middle of no where, travelling around on a bus with no internet connection. But I decided to keep my blog going when I come home as a way to keep hold of my memories.

What?

My blog is filled with the things I love in my life. This could be the food I eat, the films I see or the things I buy. Since travelling around Australia, I have caught the travel bug. You'll see lots of posts about where I've been and where I hope to go in the future.

I would like to take this moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who reads my blog. I know that everyone says it, but I really do appreciate all the comments I get. I love reading them and discovering new blogs and meeting new people.

I wonder what the next year of blogging will bring...

Once I'd got home from London in the morning, I just wanted to sleep! But, I had all my family coming to my house so I decided on lots of red bull! All my family started to turn up from 3pm. I got some amazing gifts from my family and I felt like a very lucky girl indeed! I got a Nikon D3100 from my uncle and parents, a gold locket from my aunts, uncles, cousins and nan and a necklace with my birth stones in from my grandad and gran. I also got some dollars for my holiday to las Vegas in the summer which I thought was amazing because I didn't think of asking for any! We had some lovely curry for dinner and lots of alcohol! By 7pm everyone was a but merry and it was really nice to see everyone enjoying themselves at my 21st birthday! A very lovely day and a perfect end to a wicked weekend! I would like to thank everyone that has made my weekend very special ♥ I will never forget my 21st birthday!

I woke up unusually early because I was so excited! I was like a kid at Christmas! I spent the morning with my family. I opened lots of cards I'd got through the post and some amazing gifts! From my Mum and Dad got me a Me to You statue, las Vegas and a camera (which I got on Sunday because it was also from my Uncle). My brother Steve and his girlfriend Andrea got me a lovely Tiffany & Co bracelet! My brother has made me a video. He puts filming footage and photos to music! I will also see this on Sunday for the first time! I also got this scarf sent through from my friend Sara who lives in Wales. I thought it was incredibly kind of her! My friend Gemma come round in the morning to give me a present. I got a lovely Alice band and iPhone case and she's made me an amazing cake with Harry Potter on it! It was absolutely brilliant! My friends Jess, Cathy and Becca, come round in the afternoon so we could get ready for our night out in London. My friend Cathy flew back to England from Germany for the weekend. I thought this was so nice of her to come all this way to spend the weekend with me! We had some beer, wine and vodka jelly whilst watching some sex and the city. My surprises started today and I was truly touched! I had a quick shower and when I come down the stairs a lady had arrived to do all of our make up for the night! I had absolutely no idea that they'd planned this at all! I was in shock! I had fake eyelashes and coral lipstick on and I'd not worn either of them before. We all looked stunning and the make up was done so well! Once we was all ready was were just waiting for our lift to London. There I was thinking that my friend's dad was giving us a lift but when I went outside a limo had arrived! I just could not believe it! I am lucky to have such lovely friends that have made such an effort to make my birthday a special one! I will always remember my birthday and the surprises from them!

The journey up to London was a lot of fun and was filled with music, champagne and wine! We dropped our bags at the hotel we'd booked and then went straight to the London Eye! I have been on the London Eye before but never at night. Seeing London lit up was really special! We then made our way to Planet Hollywood for dinner. I got a lovely garlic chicken noodle dish and I ate the entire meal with chop sticks, I was really pleased with myself haha! We got starters, a main meal, dessert (with sparkles) and 2 cocktails for £25 each! I thought that was a really amazing price. My dad printed off a voucher for us so we got lots of money off, click here. We then got a cab back to our hotel and crashed for the night! I would like to thank my friends for making my birthday an extra special one! I was totally unexpected to have my make up done and a limo for the night! ♥

Barcelona, Spain

I have just got back from Barcelona. I went with two friends to celebrate Cathy's 21st birthday! It was an amazing few days!
The first day we went out for a "quiet" meal. We found a place called TapaTapa. We had Sangria, ate lots of food and checked out the Spanish waiters. After dinner we went for a walk around the city. It is so beautiful! All the buildings were lit up, it was warm and we had fun. We went to the city centre where there were lots of fountains. Of course, I thought it would be a good idea to stand in the fountain. Our walk took us to a small bar down a side alley. We decided on Mojitos which was the worst idea ever! They were so strong and only Becca could finish her cocktail. Good on her! It was late but still there were a lot of places open. We had waffles as we walked along finding our next place to go, which were amazing! The best waffles I have had. We decided on the Hard Rock which I am pleased about! One mention for 21st birthdays and we got a free surprise cocktail. A great night!

The second day was Cathy's 21st birthday! We basically spent the day walking around Barcelona and taking in the sights. We saw the Cathedral, many more beautiful buildings and street performers and the beach! We stood in the Mediterranean on 3rd January 2011! Who'd of thought! After a siesta (when in Spain...) we went to another Tapas restaurant, Piscolabis. It had pretty much the same food as the night before but the atmosphere wasn't the same. After dinner we walked around the city some more and ended diving in to small cafe in desperate need for the toilets and ended up ordering another jug of Sangria et Cava. We made our way back to our hostel and had a bit of an early one! A lovely day indeed!

Our last full day in Barcelona was spent walking around Barcelona again. We went to Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia. It is amazing! The detail gone in to making the building is astonishing. It is going to take another 20 years to complete it and I can not wait to see the finished piece. We then got a train to Park Guell. When we decided to go to the park I was thinking grass and picnic benches, I even took my book along to read!! We was in for a surprise. The park was basically made up of mosaics. The ground was pebbled, the stairs, ceiling and seats were all mosaic! It was amazing to see! The open grounds was covered in tradesmen, a band and performers. The atmosphere was brilliant and there was a view of Barcelona. One of my favorite places. Whilst we was there the Policia turned up and all of a sudden all the tradesmen were running all over the place and hiding in bushes!! It really was one of the funniest things I have seen! After a long day we chased the sunset then ended up at TapaTapa again. It was an eventful meal which ended with me going on a date with a Spanish waiter then meeting my friends and getting free wine. Not a bad way to end a great city break!
