I solemnly swear that I am up to no good

I went to a Baby Shower today and this is their present I got all wrapped up. The lovely couple, Ame and Dan, are having a baby girl. I bought them a pink t-shirt with the words "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good". They are huge Harry Potter fans and they loved the little top :]
When I got home there was a beautiful sunset. I really do love sunsets so, naturally, I had to take a picture :] I hope you've all had a lovely day!

cupcakes and butter cream icing

6oz of sugar and 6oz of butter.
Mix together and add one egg.
Slowly add on 6oz of Self Raising flour.
We added a little bit of Semi Skimmed milk because our mixture seemed a bit dry.

Put them in the over for between 15-30 minutes, until golden. We poked a tooth pick inside to see if any of the mixture stuck to it. If the mixture sticks to the tooth pick it means they need to cook for longer.
Butter Cream Icing
We used 4oz of butter and 8oz of Caster sugar.
We mixed it together and added purple food colouring.
We used a pipe to decorate the cakes.
 :)
Vikki had bought baby item moulds. We pushed icing in to the mould and out come the amazing shapes.
And then they were done :) they were really yummy too!

For some people, baking is simple. For me it seems to be near enough impossible. My friend Vikki makes amazing cakes. We are both attending a baby shower tomorrow and so I thought I'd help her make the cupcakes, and I am pleased I did. I even made a batch of the cupcakes myself. They were really delicious! Enjoy!

the end of an era

I am a massive fan of Harry Potter and on the eve of the very last film hitting our screens, I thought I’d dedicate a post to the amazing decade of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
I am 21 years old and of similar ages to Daniel, Emma and Rupert. I remember Blue Peter promoting auditions for Hermione all those years ago and since then, I guess I was hooked. I remember my mum trying to convince me to go for auditions, looking back, I kind of wish I did! Not that I would have got anywhere, but just to of been part of it all.
I have just finished watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1. I have watched all of the films this week in preparation for tomorrow, cuddled up in bed and mouthing the words. I think that each film has got better as time has gone along. I love that the films have grown with the characters. The Philosopher’s Stone being a proper kid’s film and The Deathly Hallows Part One being a more complicated and dark film.
JK Rowling earned a degree in French and Classics at University and started writing Harry Potter during a delayed train journey from Manchester to London. I think this is hugely inspirational as she didn’t study particularly to write novels, yet she has now sold more than 400 million copies of a book known worldwide. Not only did JK Rowling write Harry Potter but she also invented new words, games and a whole other world. I admire her “Rags to Riches” story; once upon a time she was claiming benefits and within 5 years she was a multi-millionaire. She proves that if you put mind to something, anything is a possibility.
I wasn’t able to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2’s premier live as I was at the theatre, but reading about it after actually brings tears to my eyes; and this photo in particular:
I think that, despite being in front of the camera for 10 years and earning huge amounts of money, the famous trio still seem down to earth and hugely appreciative of their fans. It may sound horrible, but I think there's something quite nice about seeing them all emotional because it shows how much they care for the films and how sad they are that it's all ending. I think that as they care for the films is one of the many reasons as to why the fans are so dedicated. How times have changed:

I could go on and on about how much I love Emma, Daniel and Rupert and how I love the films, I won't though. I am going see the film tomorrow at 8pm and as always I will be writing a review on it. This may sound weird, but I don't feel prepared for it all to end. Harry Potter ending, for me, is like leaving school or saying good bye to someone you love. I was excited about seeing the film, and I still am, but now I am mainly sad. I know for a fact that I will cry, it will be loud and hugely embarrassing. I hope you all enjoy the film if and when you see it.

P.S.
LOOK HOW FIT MR. LONGBOTTOM HAS GOT!

hp geek

I am getting my geek on. This week I have watched all of the Harry Potter films in preparation for tomorrow :] The End is Nigh.

Please excuse how rough I look. I am not going to lie - this week has been pretty horrible so I have made no effort what so ever!

#ldnbloggermeet

I don't know about you, but my blog has allowed me to meet some lovely people. I was talking to the lovely Aimee Kitson on Twitter (@MissLuxLife) today and we decided that it would be good to meet the people behind the screen.
We are thinking of meeting somewhere in London on Saturday 10th September. Lots of time to plan :] Let us know if you are interested and any ideas on what we could get up to! I was thinking, depending on the weather, maybe a picnic in the park. It would be great to meet you and a lovely day out :]  You can get in touch with me on the-daisychain@hotmail.co.uk and with Aimee on her blog (click here).

Birmingham, England

Today, I went to Birmingham with my friend Emma. She will be going back to uni for her 4th year in September. I went along to help her move in to her house and keep her company in the car. I love going to different cities, I think that each one has something different to offer.
Emma's house is really nice. She's got a lovely room and there is a beautiful garden, which she hasn't had before. After moving her bits in to her room we went out for dinner. I was surprised as to how cheap it all was. I had gammon, egg and chips with a Budwised for about £5! Bargain!

Emma also took me on a bit of a tour of her Uni. The grounds are really pretty and I love the old buildings. She is really looking forward to her final year and I am excited to go visit her.
